Hi, Mr. Mayes,

My name is Ken Delaney. I served in Vietnam Aug 70 to Aug 71. My first assignment was with the 4th infantry division in the central highlands. I can not remember the engineering outfit there but after three months it folded under Nixon's withdraw plans.

Next I was sent to Duc Pho with what I thought was the 26th engineers, company C but I don't see that in any of the information on your site. I am wondering if I am missing something. The stories I read on your site are of the area I was in. LZ Bronco right next to Duc Pho, LZ Liz just north of that on left and Quang Ngai maybe ten miles give or take a few north of that and our division headquarters at Chu Li some miles north of Quang Ngai. (Americal Division)

I was a dozer operator 62E20 and also drove ten ton low boys that hauled the heavy equipment. We also went north on LSTs to take over some areas left empty when some of our brothers went west to support the ARVN's during their campaigns into Laos. We were somewhere just south of DMZ.

I am trying to contact some of the men I was with. I remember a Staff Sargent Keller and Dave Townsend who played a guitar. I see a lot of their faces but can not remember the names. Every now and then something will come back to me. I wonder if anyone else has that problem. Anyhow if you could post this on your site I would appreciate it. Maybe you can put me on the role call list and that would help with my efforts to locate some of my company brothers.

Sincerely,
Kenneth R. Delaney Jr.

Hi Richard,

I came across your website searching for photos. My book doesn't have any information on your unit as I was going to list it in U.S. Army Units in Vietnam on my website Welcome to Base Camp Phu Loi.

Nice website! I will add your link to my website if you wish.

Aloha,

Good to see your website and photos ... some really good quality photos. I took a few when I was stationed in the Quang Ngaio Province circa 1969. It's comforting to be reminded we were emissaries and many of us represented our country with honor and dignity.

Mahalo nui loa for your good work,

Sincerely,
Floyd W. Barty

Thanks ! Your pictures bring back lots of memories. I was at the base in Duc-Pho, and then went down to the beach to set up radio communications. Do you remember the guy who set up the radio pipe line so we could call the U.S.? That was me. It didn't last to long as the beach complex was destroyed on June 20 or 21, 1967. Never did get back there after I got out of the hospital. Wish I did as that was great duty with real food! Oh well! Thanks again for what you're doing with this site.

Hello,

My name is Jeff Wrenn. I enjoy looking at this site, hoping to see someone I remember. I served in Company D from October 1969 to October 1970. I worked in the Motor Pool as the PLL Clerk, and sometimes as the acting motor sergeant. I was a Spc 4 when I got there, and a Spc 5 when I left. I am living in Sioux City, Iowa now.

Thanks for building this website.

Hello, My name is Jesus M Rivera Jr (Sp4) and I served in Nam March 1969 to Feb. 1971. I was a truck driver at Firebase or LZ Bronco. I delivered gas and water to LZ Liz twice a day. I knew a lot of infantry soldiers from all the companies because when they were in the rear for a week they would ride back and forth with me. It is sad but I would like to see some of them but I don't know where they are at. I passed Duc Pho every day and a sniper shot one of my friends while riding in my truck, his name was Ismael Crespo known as Sam the Sham.

Thank You for all the info you post. I go by Jesse Rivera
